We are structured to care about the packaging, surface exterior, rather than look further. Men go for young women. Featuring clear skin, a symmetrical face and body, an hour-glass figure, indicating good health and fertility with the possibility to pass on the genes. Women go for male partners with a tall and athletic body, biceps and triceps bulging exuding strength – (Cave man syndrome). If only inner beauty won over outside appearance, we wouldn’t need gyms or wellness centers.
When overworked, stressed out, we satiate ourselves with soothing alcoholic beverages, overload on a high cholesterol diet, the comforts of more sleep and wonder why the scales have gone up. A kick-start to the gym perhaps shows the body functioning better but human failings of inconsistency, is in our DNA.
My theory is that every moment matters, success or failure, enjoyment or displeasure. These experiences are etched on facial muscles that eventually deposits on skin. The skin goes through life’s law of gravity, less oxygen, more dryness as each birthday reappears. The lines become visible with each wrinkle representing life having lived. Too much alcohol from that ecstatic night should not be erased with Botox or any diverse hyaluronic acid that may restore a fake youth, that others can see but the victim cannot. The true skin that’s shows that “naughty night” creates a memory of “first times” that can never be repeated. A life well lived carries much more than gold or any measured significance that humans value.
Longevity, a result of health-science, pioneering aesthetic with wellness solutions from Longevity Hub by Clinique La Prairie brings a longer quality lifespan. Having good health brings with it, inner confidence, making positive relationships, personal growth linked to greater happiness – the beauty will light up in the heart and glows all over, just as Gibran so cleverly spun words with meaning.
The age where procreation combined with the ladder of success is within reach simultaneously, humans find ways to delude the ageing process by hiding the significance of time running out called “sell by date syndrome”. Longevity comes from preparing well, way before it’s needed. Before any accumulation of toxins, let me give the freeing of accumulated pollutants by way of Longevity Hub Bangkok’s draining the lymphatic system.
The function of the lymphatic system, best explained as simply as is possible, a circulatory component for the immune, and metabolic systems. Composed of lymphatic fluid, lymphatic vessels, and lymphatic cells, it also includes lymphatic organs, the spleen and thymus. It maintains fluid balance; absorbs dietary fats from the stomach to the bloodstream; and facilitates the immune system.
Now a revelation of my naughty night-before I had my first gentle facial massage.
It started off with a noon lunch, an innocent bottle of white shared between the two of us, over conversations that ranged from huge life-mistakes, overcoming failures, and the value of errors becoming the stepping stone to gaining wisdom. Ordering another bottle of the same, when most, at that hour would be sipping tea, we were full on to our second Chardonnay. Neither showed any signs of alcohol tipping the balance. The advantage of us living a life where alcohol was the arbiter of what one is made of life taught us well. Attempting to leave; another subject carried our intellectual dialogue for an extra two hours totaling a long six-hour lunch.
Knowing full well my early appointment the next day for a facial lymphatic drainage, but typical of my character, I wanted to challenge the definitive detoxification process. As the classic non-believer until proven, accompanying my home-made Boeuf Bourguignon dinner, I polished off the remaining. ¾ bottle of Burgundy. My lymphatic vessels are well and truly pickled.
The allocated personal room at Longevity Hub by Clinique La Prairie had a massage table, top of the line shower with big and small shower heads, ceiling hung egg-shell double-sized wicker chair, toilet and huge wardrobe. The lighting of the room provides a soothing ambience meant to bring down stress. Effective, but there are better psychological ways to achieve this effect.
I was left to change and then de-robed on the bed awaiting the masseuse, the lighting dimmed and cleansing of the face was about to begin. Her soothing voice helped and within minutes, I fell asleep. The hang-over was not even a bother. I was lost in the quietness together with her soft facial massage. The massage was helping to restore normal circulation, treating fluid retention from too much alcohol. Her soft massage supports immune function to detoxify the skin, at the same time stimulating the lymphatic vessels just underneath the skins surface. All of this happened in the comfort of slumber.
Reflection in the mirror, at home, showed the clean tired face. What I hadn’t realized was the contour of my face had slightly changed, as the gravity normally pulling the chin down a little had moved upwards. Obviously if I kept track of monthly facial lymphatic drainage, the structure of my jawline will show the Caucasian element, of which I own a thread of 1/8 Germanic heritage.
The light in the heart shines, I am grateful for what was inherited.
